Locanda

I dined at this Italian osteria for the first time the other night, and it will be my go to place for solo dining from now on. It’s definitely one of the new hotspots in SF so reservations can be really hard but they do have first come first serve bar seats which I took advantage of. The food was incredible. I ordered the tripe and pancetta for appetizer and the rabbit sugo with fettuccine for my entree. The tripe was the best I’ve had in a long time and the in-house fresh fettuccine was perfect with the sugo. What I love about solo dining/bar seats is that I get the chance to talk to other patrons. In this case I ended up chatting up with a Locanda regular (the bartender knew her name and everything) who gave me a quick run through of . She let me had a taste of her dish, which was a whole fish preparation, and it didn’t disappoint. The fish was flavorful and moist. She even recommended the dessert for me which was a wine granita which brought me back to the days when I used to study in Italy. I finished the meal with an italian digestif that the bartender recommended. I’m looking forward to going back to Locanda to try out their other dishes.
